Mini huskies are still a relatively new breed of dog and there are only a select group of authorized breeders in the USA right now, although this list is growing all the time.
The Miniature Siberian Husky Club of America (MSHCA) have organized all authorized mini husky breeders to sell puppies through the Mini Huskies website.
The puppies are then placed with buyers on the website’s members’ wait list, which requires a non-refundable membership fee of US$150.
Wait times for puppies are a minimum of 9 months, although this can be expedited for a non-refundable ‘pick of the litter’ fee of US$600.
Prices for the puppies themselves vary between US$1,250 to $1,600 depending on the puppy pedigree quality. Those with good marking and classic coloring are priced towards the higher end, for instance.
There are currently 8 authorised breeders who each have between 4 to 6 dogs in the mini husky breeding programme at any one time. They are actively recruiting additional breeders too.
All the dogs are based in Hendersonville, North Carolina, although puppies can be shipped anywhere within the US or Canada. See their shipping page for details.
There are other websites selling miniature Siberian huskies but these may not be via an authorized mini husky breeder, and they may not be able to provide you with registration paper.
The MHSCA say this about authorized breeders on their website,
Development of the Miniature Siberian Husky is at critical stages with recognition from two major registries now pending. Our breeders collectively want to ensure that the Miniature Siberian Husky is bred correctly, with dogs being health tested and examined to ensure conformity with the standard.
Mini husky mixes and Alaskan Klee Kais are available much more readily, regardless of where you are in the country.
