Petcube Bites 2 Review
Super Easy to Set Up
For those who aren’t so tech-savvy among us, don’t worry; the Petcube Bites 2 is very easy to set up. Start by downloading the Petcube app from either the Apple or Android app store on your smartphone.
Plug in the Petcube and wait for it to boot up. Open the app, create an account, and select ‘connect a device.’ The app will lead you through the process of connecting the Bites 2 to your Wi-Fi and to the app.
The app will also help you set up the device with your Alexa. You know everything is connected when an LED light on the device turns solid white. If you’d like to mount your Bites 2 to a wall, the package includes a mounting kit that can be easily screwed in.
No matter your level of expertise, you’ll be able to get this device up and running in no time. You won’t have to fumble around with complicated instructions when it comes to the Petcube.
Extremely Easy to Use
You’ll also be happy to know that using this pet camera is just as easy as setting it up.
The Petcube is easily accessible from anywhere – just pull up the app! Here, you can clearly tap into the video feed and receive the latest happenings within your home and of your pet.
Even using the special treat feature is easy! If you want to throw them a treat, click the specialized icon to trigger the action. There’s nothing complicated about it – though you’ll want to ensure you have treats available to be tossed.
Other than that, most of the time, using the device means simply looking through the camera to see what your pet is up to or receiving an alert via the app when your pet is moving about or barking. From there, you can talk to them using the two-way microphone.
What’s more convenient than checking in on your pet from anywhere? Not much. We loved the high-quality video feed and two-way audio making them virtually present with their dog or cat – even when they were at work or traveling.
Since most of us have our smartphones on us anyways, this makes checking up on your pet, giving them a treat, or talking to them super easy.
No need to drive home or worry all day that they’re tearing up the furniture; the Petcube Bites 2 keeps you in the loop and informed. This way, you can say good-bye to some of the stresses of being a pet owner.
Incredibly Easy Maintenance
Those using the Bites 2 will definitely appreciate the device’s easy maintenance. Just make sure it’s connected to your Wi-Fi and, occasionally, top off the treats. That’s it!
There are no complicated instructions or heavy cleaning when it comes to keeping this device up and running. And since there’s no use of batteries, you won’t have to worry about this camera dying mid-session.
Owning a pet is a busy job and Petcube has designed the Bites 2 to add ease and convenience to your life. Their knowledge of petcare clearly shows with a device that has minimal maintenance.
On the Pricey Side
If you’re on a budget or are just starting to stock up on pet accessories, the price of this device may be a little disappointing. Priced at under $300 on Amazon, this pet camera may be out of budget for some.
While this is pricier than some other pet cameras on the market, you’re most certainly paying for the technology and convenience of this particular item.
Not every product allows you to watch, feed, and talk to your pet. If you can afford it, it’s definitely worthwhile. If not, you may want to wait until the price comes down.
There’s also a chance of this device being too sensitive. Among some testers, there were issues with false-positives from the app.
You may get an alert on your phone saying that either there is movement in front of the camera or that their dog is barking when there are no such problems after checking the video.
While this means you may have to fix the placement of your camera, it’s not at all a dealbreaker.
Here’s a video showing what the Petcube Bites 2 looks like out of the box.
After looking over all the positives and negatives, we do recommend the Petcube Bites 2. It gives you the ability to check on your pet’s safety and happiness, as well as to reinforce training from afar.
As long as you’re willing to pay the price and don’t mind a few false-positives, this is definitely a product worth checking out.
Since even the most dedicated pet owner still needs to run errands and go to work, products like the Petcube Bites 2 come in handy.
Now, with this technology, we can stop our dogs from eating things they shouldn’t, tell our cat to get off the countertop for the hundredth time, and finally catch our pets doing cute things. What could be better?
